This image shows Old St Peter’s Church in Stockbridge, Hampshire.
The original church on this site dates from the 12th century, though masonry from an even earlier Saxon chapel has been incorporated into the structure. The building was largely demolished in the 1870s, leaving only the chancel. It features medieval wall paintings, some of which are dated 1588. The entrance has a massive oak door that has been carbon-dated to 1354.
