When I came up with this idea it was in response to my daughter Rachelle’s query about New Year resolutions. And basically how none of mine had lasted to see March 1st. Last year, my goal was to learn the Latin names of all the plants in my garden. I think I got about 3 out of what must be close to 50 plants. (wildflowers included.)
So I cast about for something else to try. I saw on FB a virtual walk thru the shire and signed up for that. And nothing happened. It seemed like you were supposed to do all the work yourself with no guidance. I thought if I’m going to do all the work, I might as well strike out on my own. I was planning on going to detect on the beach soon and I thought wouldn’t it be fun if I could just detect my way around England?
Well that’s not what I did, virtually, but I did visit every beach along the way via google maps and the web.
