big changes ahead

In the midst of Nanowrimo I took a break to listen to some podcasts and heard a discussion over on hppodcast.com about someone who sucessfully migrated his blog to a published novel. I think I’ll give that a try, and it means the purpose of this blog will change with it.

I thought I might separate the story from the personal blogs anyway, and I already have vrjervis.com reserved. I hope you like the new format.

cheers,

Nanowrimo y’all

All this writing of dialog for my brothers back home has brought back my twang just a tiny bit.
I was testing audactity to see if I could use it to make notes with since my eyes are about to fall out of my sockets and when I played it back I could hear my south mouth even in the parts where the brothers weren’t talking.

Blue Bottle dance!

Remember that batch of cider that exploded on me back in July? The remaining bottles are ready now and boy! Am I glad I rescued what I could. It’s more like sparkling wine than cider and much more fizzy than previous batches. The blue bottles are holding up to the pressure and there’s barely any sediment. Will have to remember that trick of re-bottling after about a month….Now where did I put that hydrometer?

Dead Tree Safari anyone?

I’m no photographer but I just think dead trees are so evocative of their former life. Every Fall I want to go out and take pictures of bare trees. Dead bare trees are even better. Something deep inside me drives me to do this, it feels akin to fossil hunting in my heart of hearts.
