After the students left Orientation I noticed an interesting thing:
There are two piles of printer instructions on this table. The students with Windows laptops took a copy from the pile in the middle and students with Macs were to take from the pile on the right. A quick count showed that I still had 23 copies of the Windows instructions and only two for Macs.
That either indicates a shift in computer preferences overall or maybe something intangible about Windows users. I’ve been in this game a long time and I can remember when we didn’t even write documentation for Apple products because they were too niche.
