My first trip took me to 2416. I was devastated by what I found. Everything was gone; the Earth was an empty husk. I jumped to 2316 and found the same dead planet. Back to 2116 found a slightly warmer but still dead corpse. I came back to Today, the Present and found that it was all my fault. I had started it. Once time travel actually worked someone came back to steal the idea. Then someone else, and then someone else. The war over time travel was finished, begun, won and lost before I even pressed the button. I pressed it again.
