maybe its the movies

I’ve dreamed several times recently about — and this is tricky– about having been in the English army who’s job was to walk about bombed areas looking for gas leaks with the help of a bull dog. Named Winston or Monty. Who was apparently better at finding other dogs trapped in the rubble than in smelling out gas.

I say “having been” because in the context of the dream I am older and for some reason don’t have any direct memories of what I did during the war. I am researching my own history because I can’t remember if I actually did those things, or if I only think I did and I’m trying to find some outside verification.

I also don’t seem to be in England when I’m doing my research. The timeline didn’t make any sense because I’d have to be several decades older than I am now to have taken any part in the second world war. It would be a stretch to overlap my life with Korean or even Vietnam. That one probably. But lt doesn’t stand up to conscious examination.

I just know that I’ve dreamed this scenario twice, maybe more.
